Manual Therapy

Joint Mobilization

Applied to a specific joint capsule with varying levels of force and amplitude ranging from grades 1-5 beginning with small joint play movements that provide pain relief to the joint through low amplitude mechanoreceptor stimulation advancing to increasing amplitude of force approaching end-range of joint mobility with the goal of improving resting joint position and overall range of motion.

Myofascial Release/Massage

Soft tissue mobilization techniques utilizing a myriad of different techniques/strokes which work to enhance micro-circulation (blood flow) to improve extensibility & elasticity of the desired target tissue. Pressure often moves from superficial to deep depth to allow for greater comfort and ultimately greater degree of inhibition of the tight musculature and fascia.

Cross Friction Release

Moderate to deep depth strokes are delivered with perpendicular vectors of force to the desired band of tendon or ligament to provide increased blood flow and break-up adhesions that compress nerves and limit mobility, ultimately resulting in pain relief.
